Rumors of updated iMacs have been flying fast and furious lately, and now it seems like they're getting a bit of credibility -- AppleInsider says retailers, including Apple's own stores, have been told supplies of iMacs and Mac minis are "constrained" and that future orders will go unfulfilled. You heard that right -- the Mac mini, the red-headed stepchild of the Mac line, is now also officially on Refresh Watch. Countertrend: H-P Says Please Print Often
If your company makes printers but general trends are leaning toward using less paper and moving digital content to e-readers and smartphones, what can you do? Hewlett-Packard’s solution is to find new ways to get people to print more.
The $399 H-P Photosmart Premium All-in-One with Touch-Smart Web (hp.com/go/touchprinting) will print, copy, fax and scan like other all-in-ones. But it connects to the Internet using built-in Wi-Fi and displays customized Web applications on itsSource: All Things Digital RSS Feed

More Social Media Use Means More Email Use
Nielsen set out to prove that social media use put a significant dent into email use, assuming that the more time people spent on social networks, the less time they were likely to spend using email. It didn't quite work out that way in the firm's experiment however.
Nielsen explains its methodology:
We decided to churn some quick data to test our hypothesis that “Consumption of social media decreases email use.” First, we broke the online population into four groups. TheSource: WebPro News RSS Feed
The Buzz: Our Watery Moon
Last June, scientists were thrilled to find evidence of ice on Mars. Now, the galaxy is again proving to be more abundant in water than believed. Data from the Moon Mineralogy Mapper instrument aboard the Indian satellite Chandrayaan-1 has revealed that the surface of the Moon may be covered in either water or closely related hydroxyl ions (OH-). As much as one quart of water or hydroxyl might be contained in a cubic yard of Moon soil, according to the best estimates from the data. "ThisSource: Page 3.14 RSS Feed

Rumor: Nikon D3s Refresh In October, Adds 1080p Video [Nikon]
An anonymous tipster over at Nikon Rumors reports this weekend that the pro-level Nikon D3 will be on the receiving end of a refresh on or around October 15.
Topping the list of expected features and improvements are 14fps and 1080p video, as well as a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR lens.

Bring Back the Radio Wars [GigaOM]
The enthusiasm in Silicon Valley over the growth of mobile broadband and mobile applications is palpable these days, but there’s one thing missing: an understanding of how the underlying network affects both the physical hardware and the way applications run. What we need is the return of the Radio Wars, those loud and acrimonious battles over exactly how we’re going to get our gigabytes of mobile data from Point A to Point B.
In the mid-’90s the debate was over CDMA vs. GSM;Source: GigaOM Network RSS Feed

How do you read the contents of a PDF document or a PowerPoint Presentation if you don’t have the corresponding viewer installed on your computer or mobile phone? The immediate answer would be that you upload the file to a document hosting site like Scribd or SlideShare and read the contents inside the web browser.

Microsoft Turtle Comes Out of it’s Shell and Brings the Pure With it.
It seems Microsoft were oblivious to the whole Bob Quick photograph scandal, as they’ve gone and made a similar blunder. Photographs of Microsoft’s ‘Pink Project’ were left around and Gizmodo have taken full advantage. Here you can see two photos of the alleged ‘Turtle’ and ‘Pure’ Microsoft phones, they aren’t shots of the actual phones but rendered images of what they’re expected to look like.

Nokia’s Ovi Store Enables Re-downloads
When you buy a piece of software (or any product, for that matter) you’d like to feel as though you’re able to keep it for as long as you need it, regardless of where you go or what device you use. But until recently Nokia had a different philosophy for anything purchased through the Ovi Store.
It used to be that any purchase made in the Ovi Store would be limited to one download only and could not be transferred to another Nokia device.

What City Has The Worst Drivers? [Question Of The Day]
It’s Crash Week and, while we’re taking a global view of bad driving, we thought we’d resurrect one of the most controversial driving questions ever: what city has the worst drivers?
After long deliberation, we have to go with Chicago drivers. This is totally subjective, of course, but while driving in New York is hellish, it’s predictably hellish, and you know you’re in for rudeness and sleep-deprived taxi drivers before you set out. Magnetic Attraction
Aufhanger is the re-design of an ordinary hanger sans hooks. It uses magnets within its body to latch onto the steel rod of the wardrobe. A hook-less hanger not only looks classy but is quite functional as well. BTW, the magnet part is nestled on the top rim.
